Stuffed artichoke, a cheese bomb, and lovely red wine. A quick break before joining pilgrims for dinner.
We are waiting on our guest cook to arrive. She offered yesterday saying she would come back today around this time. Secretly, we are excited she wanted to cook because we would like time away from being in the kitchen over a hot stove stirring pots as large as hot tubs.
Recent questions asked of us:
- We are a family of 4, can we have a separate smaller dorm room rather than staying in the large dorm with 9 bunk beds? Sorry, no.
- Can I sleep on a mat in a spare room rather than sleeping in the large dorm room with 9 bunk beds? Sorry, no.
- (Pilgrims tend to wander upstairs when we are not looking.) Can I use the nice looking bathrooms up on the second floor? Sorry, no.
- Is it okay for me to set up my camp stove here in the kitchen area? Sorry, no. How about in the courtyard where we wash our clothes? Sorry, no. (Pilgrim asked this as we were ready to gather the 18 people for dinner. It was a bit chaotic to say the least.)
- I brought wine to share with dinner. Can I open it? Yes, please.
Other recent pictures (sorry if I posted repeats).
Beautiful fountain display. I sat at a cafe nearby to watch it grow and then shrink.I like trying a new cafe everyday.
I walked the 135 steps in the north bell tower called Saint Peter. The southern bell tower is Saint Paul. Very nice view of the surrounding city and hills. I was afraid when I got to the top at 11:55am, all 5 bells would clang loudly at 12 noon. They did not.
A Dutch fellow started in Norway on this set up.
The bike matches the flowers. The streets are very quiet in the afternoon from around 2-6pm.
