Thursday, October 30, 2025 Almost done.

Checking in this nice fellow from Japan.

The time as a host is coming to an end.  Friday will be the last full day.  We are down a host but can manage with the two of us due to dwindling pilgrims and we know what we are doing now.  Our replacement hosts are scheduled to report tomorrow at 8am to learn the ropes.

Last night 6 pilgrims for dinner, 8 slept in the dorm.  They really enjoy the homecooked meal along with the fresh salad.  I asked how they decided on this place and they mentioned the app they use indicates we provide a free dinner and breakfast.  That is true.  We also remind them several times this is a parish house and any donation is appreciated to support the next set of pilgrims.

On this Thursday night we had two other volunteers joining us.  The pilgrim in the middle did a great job in the kitchen after dinner.

Today is another exceptional fall day - will it be the last?  Rain is reported for Saturday.  I head north to the beaches of Getxo on Saturday.  Hoping the weather will be sunny and bright there too.  Wishful thinking?

Another fun part of the work is seeing pilgrims off in the morning. Buen Camino.
